I like to say I missed the cue on purpose. I did not. But I would miss it again a hundred times to hear her whisper my line.
A church Christmas production in Surulere. She was stage manager; he was the innkeeper who forgot his entrance.
The cast went home. The two of them stayed for "one more" stick of suya and talked until the vendor packed up.
Jollof in Enugu, amala in Ibadan, and two mothers who became friends before the couple could finish the introductions.
